CARICOM leaders have called for peace in the Middle East and North Africa in the wake of several anti-regime uprisings.
In a statement, the leaders say they look forward to a resolution through dialogue which will allow the Arab people to freely exercise their fundamental human rights.
The regional heads say they are gravely concerned about the recent developments
which have been sparked by the people’s desire for change and have condemned the use violence by the state to quash anti-government protests.
About 300 people have been killed in Libya since the start of the demonstrations earlier this month.
