St Andrew High hammer Wolmer’s Girls

St Andrew High hammered Wolmer’s Girls 17-0 to register their second victory from as many games in the 2011 Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/ Jamaica Hockey Federation Under-19 competition yesterday.



The game was played at the Mona Hockey Turf.



Kamille Griffiths led St Andrew High with nine goals, while Demi Nicholson and Ruthaine Bernard scored two each.



As a result of the victory, St Andrew High have moved to six points in the standings, three clear of second place Papine.



In the Boys’ competition, Tivoli Gardens edged Campion 1-0 to hold on to their lead in Zone-A, while Wolmer’s Boy whipped Kingston College 2-0 to move second in Zone-B on four points, two behind leaders Jamaica Colleges.



The competition continues this afternoon with three matches. In the Girls’ competition, Papine High and Campion College will face off at 1.30 p.m. in the afternoon.



In the Boys’ competition, Black River will play Excelsior High at 2.30 p.m. and Munro College will tackle St Andrew Technical High School at 3.30 p.m.
