West Indies have one foot in World Cup quarters

West Indies have one foot in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Cricket World Cup after South Africa demolished Bangladesh by 206 runs to finish top of Group B.
Bangladesh had needed to win to qualify for the quarterfinals. Due to their poor run rate, it is basically impossible for them to qualify even if the West Indies lose heavily to India.
England are also through to the knockout phase.
South Africa scored 284-8 after batting first, with Jacques Kallis top scoring on 69.
Bangladesh, needing to win in Mirpur to progress, then crumbled to 78 all out in reply as spinner Robin Peterson ended up with figures of 4-12.
The result today confirmed South Africa as Group B winners. The result of India’s match against West Indies on Sunday will determine the positions of the other three qualifiers from the group.
