Sri Lanka knock out England

England crashed out of the Cricket World Cup after suffering a 10-wicket defeat toco-hosts Sri Lanka in the final quarterfinal match in Colombo today.



England struggled to 229 for six from their 50 overs after winning the toss, Jonathan Trott top scoring with 86 from 115 balls.



However, the hosts chased it down with 63 balls to spare as Tillakaratne Dilshan hit 108 not out and opening partner Upul Tharanga 102 not out to set up a semi-final meeting with New Zealand on Tuesday in Colombo.



India, another of the co-hosts, will face Pakistan in the second semi-final on Wednesday in Mohali.
