No World cup for young Reggae Boyz

Jamaica’s dream of qualifying for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup ended last night after they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Honduras in their final preliminary round game of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championships at the Mateo Flores Stadium in Guatemala.
The young Reggae Boyz ended the qualifier without a point following a 2-0 defeat to Guatemala in their opening Group-A game on Wednesday night.
The Jamaicans were looking to emulate their Under-17 compatriots who qualified for their age group World Cup recently.
Neco Brett scored with a dramatic 35-metre blast in the 25th, giving Jamaica hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals.
However, Honduras hit back through Ever Alvarado, and Alexander Lopez, to book their spot in the quarterfinals.
Honduras will face Guatemala tomorrow to determine the Group-A winner and seeding for the quarterfinals. The United States, Panama, Costa Rica, Canada and Mexico had qualified for the quarterfinals, the winners of which will advance to the Under-20 World Cup.
