Subratie holds key to Guineas Classic

The season’s first Classics, the One Thousand and Two Thousand Guineas races, will take place at Caymanas Park today.
The races sponsored jointly for the first time by Sanmerna Paper Products Limited and TWP Realty Company Limited will be run over a mile.
The One Thousand Guineas is confined to native bred three-year-old fillies and the Two Thousand Guineas to colts and geldings.
Trainer Gary Subratie holds a very strong hand with ante-post favourite UNCLE KEN and BIG MAN BOY U in the Two Thousand Guineas, and NIPHAL along with the impressive TREASURE GIRL in the One Thousand Guineas.
UNCLE KEN to be ridden by Shane Ellis should win the Two Thousand Guineas based on his 3-and-a-half length victory under topweight of 57 kilos in the Prince Consort Stakes over 1400 metres.
TREASURE GIRL, with Trinidadian Brian Harding up, gets the vote in One Thousand Guineas. Post time on the 11-race card is 12:15.
