Subratie holds key to Guineas Classic

NIPHAL upstaged her more fancied stable companion, the 8-to-5 favourite TREASURE GIRL to win the One Thousand Guineas Classic race, confined to native-bred three-year-old fillies, at Caymanas Park today.
The Gary Subratie-trained filly, ridden by jockey Shane Ellis, won the eight-furlong event by three-quarter lengths at odds of 5-to-1.
Second passed the post TREASURE GIRL was ridden by Trinidadian jockey Brian Harding. Another four-and-a-quarter lengths in third was CARIDAD with Jamaican overseas-based rider Allen Maragh at odds of 8-to-1, while ISNT SHE SOMTHIN finished fourth.
