Amateur golf championship tees off today

Jamaica’s top golfers will compete for the title of National Amateur Champion over the Labour Day weekend. The 54-hole competition, which tees off this morning, will run over three days at the Caymanas Golf & Country Club in a medal play format.
Prizes will be awarded in the men, senior, super senior, female and junior categories.
The championship will act as a qualifying tournament for next year’s National Trials. In addition, the championship is highly regarded as a warm-up tournament for this year’s National Trials, which are scheduled for June 16 to 19 in Montego Bay.
