Al-Qeada gets new leader

Ayman al-Zawahiri is now the head of the international terrorist group al-Qeada.

Al-Zawahiri was the group’s second in command before his appointment.

The BBC is reporting that the statement announcing his appointment was posted on a militant website and attributed to al-Qaeda's General Command.

Al-Zawahiri replaces Osama bin Laden who was killed by US forces in Pakistan last month.

Al-Qaeda is also warning that it would continue to fight a holy war against the US and Israel under Zawahiri's direction.
