Horseracing resumes today at Caymanas Park

Horseracing resumes at Caymanas Park today after a shutdown was averted this week following the intervention of the Finance Minister Audley Shaw.
The stakeholders had taken a decision to withhold their support of horse racing until certain issues were addressed by the government.
The main issue had to do with the prolonged impasse between Caymanas Track Limited and the bookmakers over increased rights fees.
On the track, today’s card features the annual renewal of the Valbert Marlowe Memorial Trophy over 1800 metes.
The Anthony Nunes-trained SILENT IMAGE under title-chasing jockey Dick Cardenas is tipped to win. PRINCE OF ARABIA and WAIT AWHILE are the main dangers.
