Young Boyz open World Cup campaign today

Jamaica will open their Group ‘B’ campaign at the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Mexico today when they tackle Japan at Estadio Universitario, beginning at 6:00 p.m.



This will be the first appearance for Jamaica on the global football stage since 2001 when the Under-20 team played in Argentina.



The game is the second of a Group ‘B’ double-header as Argentina and France will face off at 3:00 p.m.



There are two other games on today’s opening day at the Estadio Morelos. Those matches are hosts Mexico playing Korea at 3:00 p.m. and Congo against Netherlands at 6:00 p.m.



The top two teams from each of the six groups, along with the best four third-place finishers, will advance to the round of 16.
