Suriname and Argentina have signed an agreement allowing for their nationals to visit each other’s country without a visa.

A statement from the Suriname foreign ministry says dropping the visa requirement fits perfectly in the government’s policies aimed at improving regional integration.

It says Suriname intends to sign similar arrangements with several other South American countries, under the banner of the Union of South American States.

In the meantime Argentina is to open an embassy in Suriname soon.
