Police seek British woman killers
The authorities in Antigua and Barbuda are searching for the killers of a recently married British woman who was shot during her honeymoon at a hotel in the south west of the island.
Police said that 31 year old Catherine Bowen was killed by gunmen, who broke into her room on Sunday.
Her 31year old husband Benjamin Mullany, was also shot and is hospitalised in critical condition.
The two were married on July 12.
Police Commissioner, Gary Nelson, said that several persons have been detained for questioning and called on citizens and visitors to remain calm.
Tourism and police officials have sought to assure visitors, particularly those at the hotel where the incident occurred, that their safety is ensured while on the island.
Bowen is the 10th person to be murdered in the country since the start of the year.
