West Indies beaten in first Test

West Indies will travel to Barbados on Saturday for the second Test against India, trailing 1-nil after going down by 63 runs in the opening match today at Sabina Park in Kingston.
Resuming on 131 for three in pursuit of 326 for victory, the West Indies were bowled out for 262, just 30 minutes after the lunch interval on the fourth and penultimate day of the match.
Six of the seven wickets this morning went in the opening session. The overnight pair of Darren Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul were dismissed very early.
Left-handed Bravo, who was 30 overnight, was first to go bowled behind his back by seamer Praveen Kumar for 41, while veteran Chanderpaul was caught at cover for 30 in the bowler’s next over at 149 for 5.
Ravi Rampaul hammered 34 runs from 30 balls down the order and last man Devendra Bishoo scored 26. Kumar and Ishant Sharma ended with three wickets apiece.
The second Test begins in Bridgetown, Barbados on Tuesday.
