Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar will today announce her first Cabinet re-shuffle more than one year after her coalition People’s Partnership government came into office.

A brief statement from the Office of the Prime Minister gave no details of the composition of the new Cabinet, but said that three Government Ministers are scheduled to be sworn-in today at 4:00 p.m.

The Trinidad Express newspaper has reported that its sources say Health Minister Therese Baptiste will be axed from the Cabinet, while the embattled Works and Transport Minister Austin Jack Warner is expected to be relieved of the Transport portfolio.

The paper said that Foreign Affairs Minister Suruj Rambachan will get additional responsibilities with the creation of the Ministry of Information.

The five-party coalition government took office following the May 24 elections last year when it won 29 of the 41 seats in the general elections.
