Reggae Boyz move up FIFA rankings

Digicel Caribbean Cup champions Jamaica have jumped 17 spots in the FIFA rankings to 38th to attain their highest rankings in recent times.
The Reggae Boyz were rewarded for winning all their preliminary games in the just concluded Gold Cup tournament in the USA. They were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage by the USA.
The Reggae Boyz are the only Caribbean team in the top 50.
Among the top ten teams, only leaders Spain and closest challengers the Netherlands have retained their positions. Brazil, third last month, have lost points and places. The Brazilians have slipped two places down to fifth.
Mexico have gained 19 places thanks to their victory at the CONCACAF Gold Cup and have rocketed back into the top ten for the first time since July 2007. They are ninth.
