Thomas pleased with six-month tenure
Incumbent chairman of CARICOM, Grenada's Prime Minister Tillman Thomas, says despite the challenges, the 15-member regional grouping was able to improve its image and effectiveness in the region during his tenure.
Speaking in Grenada ahead of his departure for the 32nd regular meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, Thomas said he was satisfied that his six-month term had helped to move the process forward.
Thomas, who is also responsible for Science and Technology in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet, says when he addresses his colleagues as outgoing chairman, he will once again encourage them to fully embrace Information Communication Technology as a critical driver for the region’s development.
St. Kitts and Nevis Prime MInister Dr. Denzil Douglas will serve as CARICOM Chairman for the next six months.
