Grenada hit three unanswered second half goals to beat Aruba 3-1 in their Digicel Caribbean Football Championship Group ‘A’ match at Ergilio Hato Stadium in Curacao yesterday.

Theric Ruiz opened the scoring for Aruba early in the second half, but Grenada’s Spice Boys tied the scores three minutes later and Anthony Modeste and Shane Rennie hit late goals to snatch victory.

The result puts Grenada at the top of the standings and the group will be decided Thursday when they tackle the Netherlands Antilles.

In the coming weeks, other group matches are slated for Guyana, Cayman Islands, St Kitts and Nevis, and Martinique.

The winner of each first round group, along with the best second place teams will progress to the second stage.

The eight-team finals are scheduled for Jamaica from December 1 to 14.
