Former world number one Tiger Woods has confirmed he will miss this month's US Open Championship at Sandwich because of his troublesome leg injury.
The 35-year-old has not played competitively since suffering a recurrence of the injury at the Players Championship in mid-May.
Australian Brendan Jones replaces Woods in the Open, which starts on July 14.
Woods, who has played in every US Open since 1994, sustained the injuries when he hit his second shot from under the Eisenhower tree at the 17th at Augusta.
He consequently missed the Wells Fargo Championship and withdrew after nine holes during the first round at the Players Championship after injuring his leg again on his opening tee shot.
