Todd is fastest qualifier for boys' 100m finals

LILLE, FRANCE:



Jamaican Odail Todd posted a personal best 10.67 seconds run in his 100m semi-final inside the Stadium Lille Metropole to lead all qualifiers into tonight's final at the IAAF World Youth Championships.



Todd was out of his blocks in a hurry and maintained his advantage right throughout to finish ahead of France's Michael-Meba ZEZE, 10.69, and Kazuma Oseto, 10.75, from Japan.



Christania Williams also looked in ominous form, winning her semi-final comfortably in 11.72 but Dianna Johnson failed to advance to the final after finishing fourth in 12.11 seconds.



Megan Simmonds, 12.91, and Chrisdale McCarthy, 12.92 are both through to the 100m hurdles final after finishing seconds in their respective semi-finals.



Marleena Eubanks, 2:14.32 (3rd) and Simoya Campbell, 2:09.62 (4th) also progressed to the next round of the 800m. Tyler Mason was second in 14.08 seconds, while Omar McLeod ran a personal best 13.83 seconds for third place and a spot in the next round.
