Todd wins gold for Jamaica in 100m

LILLE, FRANCE:



Odail Todd secured Jamaica's second gold medal at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Lille, France with a personal best 10.51 seconds.



Todd was one of the fastest out of the blocks an did well to maintain his lead over Japanese Kazuma Oseto, 10.51, and Frenchman Michael-Meba Zeze, 10.57.



Christania Williams had to settle for the bronze medal in the girls 100m with a time of 11.63 while Chrisdale McCarthy, who posted a personal best 13.55 seconds and Megan Simmonds, 13.78, finished fifth and sixth respectively in the 100m hurdles.



Jamaica now has three medals (two golds, one bronze) after two days of action.
