Young cricketers win JN scholarships

New Hope Primary and All-Age students, Evon Jones and Kevin Samuels are the first recipients of Jamaica National’s Primary and All Age cricket scholarships.
The duo, who represented their school in the primary and all-age divisions, copped the scholarships after emerging as the most valuable players in their respective finals at Sabina Park.
New Hope Primary defeated St Patrick’s by two wickets, while New Hope All-Age defeated Norman Gardens by 186 runs.
Jones made a top score of 31 in New Hope Primary’s 123 for 8. This was in reply to St Patrick’s 121.
Samuels made 49 in New Hope All-Age’s challenging 228 for 8. Norman Gardens, in their reply, were restricted to 39 for 9.
