Fuller to miss start of new Premiership season

Reggae Boy Ricardo Fuller said he will miss the start of Stoke City’s Premiership campaign as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury that cut short his season in April.

The 31-year-old has not played since he was stretchered off at Villa Park near the end of Stoke’s 1-all draw.

Fuller scored only four goals last season, but his presence on the pitch was hugely important as he always proved a handful for defenders.

He was key in getting Stoke to the FA Cup final but the injury ruled him out of the trip to Wembley where they lost 1-nil to Manchester City.

Stoke will open their Premiership campaign on August 14 against last season’s runners-up Chelsea.
