Pan American Junior Round Up
Jonathan Reid, Kimberly Williams and Peter-Gay Reid are now contesting finals for Jamaica in the evening session of today’s second and penultimate day of the 2011 Pan American Junior Championship in Miramar, Florida.
Jonathan Reid are competing in the Men’s Triple Jump Final, while Kimberly Williamson and Peter-Gay Reid are among the athletes in Women’s High Jump Final.
Javarn Gallimore is down to run in the Men’s 400-metre hurdles, while Ceila Walters will contest the Women’s 200-metre final, scheduled to start in another 15 minutes.
Yannick Hart missed a medal for Jamaica in the Men’s 110-metre hurdles by finishing fourth in 14.12 seconds.
Earlier, Rochelle Farquharson finished fifth in the women’s Long Jump final with a leap of 5.50 metres and Danniel Thomas was sixth in the women’s Discus with a throw of 48.12 metres. Another Jamaican Sasha-Gay Marston was seventh in the discus final.
Jamaica have so far won five medals comprising two gold, two silver and a bronze. All the medals came on the opening day.
