Jamaica finish sixth in Team Championship

Hosts Jamaica had to settle for sixth place at the Ocean Spray Wata Junior Badminton Team Championships at the National Indoors Sports Centre after losing the fifth place playoff to Peru yesterday.
Peru won the contest 3-2 after both teams had locked at 2-all going into the deciding game.
The Jamaican pair of Mikaylia Haldene and Katherine Wynter lost the deciding women’s doubles to Micaela Rivero and Luz Maria Zornoza 18-21, 21-9, 21-17.
Canada won the gold medal match by defeating Brazil 3-1. The Brazilians were presented with the silver medal.
Guatemala beat the United States 3-2 for the bronze medal playoff.
