Internet gaming dispute continues

The Internet Gaming dispute between Antigua and Barbuda and The United States continues.

Both countries have been locked in a row since the US imposed a cross border-betting ban.

The ban makes it illegal for financial institutions to process online payments to betting companies outside American borders.

The fourth deadline on August1 reportedly passed without a resolution and now Finance Minister Dr. Errol Cort said the two parties have agreed on the date October 1.

Dr. Cort said the new deadline would allow enough time to address any outstanding issues.

He said the matter might be referred to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), if the parties fail to agree on a settlement by October 1.
