Cricket: Jamaica poised to win Under-19 title

Leaders Jamaica have taken control against outgoing champions Windward Islands in their final round match of the West Indies Cricket Board Under-19 Championship at Demerara Cricket Club in Guyana.
Windward Islands, electing to bat after winning the toss, were bowled out for 99 just after the lunch interval on today’s opening day of the three-day contest.
Fabian Allen led the bowling for Jamaica with four for 29, while Markino Mindley and Donovan Nelson supported with two wickets apiece.
Sunil Ambris top scored for Windward Islands with 29.
Jamaica are now getting ready to start their reply.
Over at Everest, Guyana, choosing to bat against Barbados, reached 82 for eight in their first innings at the lunch interval.
And over at Bourda Oval, Leward Islands, choosing to bat against Trinidad and Tobago, reached 119 for seven in the post-lunch session.
Jamaica, who are leading the competition with 31 points, are favoured to win the title.
