England match postponed

England's friendly against the Netherlands at Wembley which is scheduled for tomorrow has been called off following three nights of rioting in London.



Football Association chairman David Bernstein said the association had consulted with the police and Government.



He said England were unable to host the fixture or guarantee the safety of the fans.



Carling Cup matches at Charlton, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bristol City have been postponed.



Ghana's friendly with Nigeria at Watford's Vicarage Road has also been called off.



The FA said all general admission tickets will be refunded in full and that it hopes to rearrange the game against the Dutch sometime next year.



The Premier League and Football League will make a decision about weekend matches in London on Thursday.
