Alastair Cook hammered his 19th Test century to cement England's dominant position against India on today’s second day of the third N-Power Test at Edgbaston.

England, who resumed this morning on 84 without loss replying to India’s first innings total of 224, were 410 for three at Sports Time.

They now lead India by 186 runs. The batsmen at the crease are Cook on 166 and Eoin Morgan on 14.

Praveen Kumar has so far led the bowling with two for 75. He dismissed Ian Bell for 34 and Kevin Pietersen for 63.

Amit Mishra was responsible for the other wicket to fall. He bowled captain Andrew Strauss for 87.

England lead the four-Test series 2-nil. They are seeking to clinch the series and replace India as the world’s number one side.
