Chris Gayle to meet WICB chief executive

West Indies opener Chris Gayle will meet with West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), chief executive Dr. Ernest Hilaire in Antigua next Tuesday to find a resolution to the issues that have kept the Jamaican out of the regional side.
Gayle has not played for the West Indies since the 2011 World Cup in South Asia in March.
Gayle got into trouble with the WICB after accusing the board of failing to supervise his rehabilitation from injury during an interview with a local radio station.
The batsman was also critical of Dr Hilaire, head coach Ottis Gibson and captain Darren Sammy.
Gayle met with WICB officials in June but that meeting ended without a resolution following heated exchanges between West Indies Players’ Association president Dinanath Ramnarine and Dr. Hilaire.
The meeting was highly contentious and the WICB said subsequently it had ended in uncertainty.
Gayle subsequently appealed for CARICOM’s intervention in the dispute, with the regional body indicating they would reactivate the Prime Ministerial sub-committee on cricket, to deal with the issue.
