Chanderpaul fails again for Warwickshire
Veteran West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul was dismissed for one on yesterday’s opening day of the English County Championship match between Warwickshire and Hampshire at Edgbaston.
The left-hander lasted just five deliveries before he edged seamer Dimitri Mascarenhas to Liam Dawson at slip, with Warwickshire on 48 for three.
Warwickshire closed on 96 for four, responding to Hampshire’s 141 all out.
On Wednesday, Chanderpaul also fell cheaply on his limited overs debut for Warwickshire, who went down by 130 runs to Surrey at the same venue in the Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament.
He started positively, cracking two fours and a six in scoring 17 off just 12 balls.
However, he perished in the eighth over at 42 for two as Warwickshire were bowled out for 152, in pursuit of 283 for victory.
