Cricket: Chanderpaul misses double century

Veteran West Indies left-hander Shiv Chanderpaul missed out on a double century as Warwickshire crushed Yorkshire by an inning and 58 runs inside three days in the Division One County Championship Thursday.



Chanderpaul carried his overnight unbeaten 167 to 193 before finally perishing, as the visitors were dismissed for 482 in reply to Yorkshire’s first innings of 297.



In their second turn at the crease, Yorkshire plummeted to 127 all out with seamer Chris Wright 5 for 31 and left-arm seamer Keith Barker 4 for 56 doing the damage.



Chanderpaul batted for four hours and 14 minutes, faced 306 balls and struck 26 fours.
