Cricket: Australia take charge over Sri Lanka

Nathan Lyon enjoyed a dream debut with five wickets as Australia dismissed hosts Sri Lanka for just 105 on today’s second day of the opening test at Galle.



Off-spinner Lyon, on his Test debut, claimed the wicket of Kumar Sangakkara with his first ball in Test cricket and followed it up with four more as Australia established a 168-run first-innings lead.



All-rounder Shane Watson supported with three for 11.



Australia were bowled out for 273 on yesterday’s opening day. And batting a second time, they reached 115 for six at stumps, a lead of 283.



Rangana Hereth has already bagged three wickets.
