Newly appointed CARICOM Secretary General, Irwin LaRocque, will lead a delegation for talks with Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer and his Cabinet on matters relating to the regional integration movement.

The Secretary General said the three-day meeting will discuss the report on the integration of the sub-regional Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and Belize into the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

The CARICOM delegation is also expected to participate in a number of other activities including meetings with the Committee of Permanent Secretaries, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other private sector organisations.

Speaking on a radio programme in Antigua yesterday, the Free Movement Specialist within the CSME Unit, Stephen McAndrew said data show that more people from outside the region were obtaining permits to work within CARICOM than those from the region.
