The Antigua and Barbuda government says it is working in collaboration with the Guyana-based CARICOM Secretariat to source funds for renewable energy projects within the country and the rest of the region.

In addition, the government said renewable energy project developers will be given the opportunity to display their projects at the 2011 Caribbean renewable Energy Forum which will be held in Barbados from October 12-14.

The forum is being organised by the CARICOM Secretariat and a number of its regional partners.

The Antigua government said the forum will provide an opportunity for project developers to participate in a match-making session with renewable energy sponsors and project financiers to identify financing for specific project proposals.

According to the statement, renewable energy project developers will also get the opportunity to be guided by financing experts on the possible financing options available for their projects.
