Former champions open Manning Cup competition
Former champions Kingston College, Norman Manley and Bridgeport High will open their 2011 ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel Manning Cup campaigns when the competition continues this afternoon.
KC and Norman Manley are drawn in Group ‘F’, while Bridgeport High play from Group ‘G’.
KC will host Penwood and Norman Manley play away to Ardenne. Also in that group Trench Town and Donald Quarrie face off at Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Bridgeport High will start against Kingston High at Bridgeport. The group also features St Mary’s College against Oberlin and Jose Marti facing St Andrew Technical High School.
There will also be three matches in Group ‘B’ and two in Group ‘D’.
All matches are scheduled to kick off at 3.30.
Meanwhile, St George’s College hammered Edith Dalton 11-1 in Group ‘E’ on yesterday’s second day of competition. Also in Group ‘E’ Meadowbrook defeated Tarrant 4-0 and Spanish Town beat Innswood 3-0.
In other games, Calabar whipped St Catherine 4-0, Holy Trinity edged Greater Portmore 2-1, Wolmer’s and Haile Selassie battled to a 3-3 draw, Ascot and Charlie Smith played to a 2-2 tie and Dunoon clipped Vauxhall 1-0.
