St Lucian Prime Minister Stephenson King has given another strong indication that general elections could be held before the end of this year.

According to King, his ruling United Workers Party only has two more major political rallies planned before a date for the poll is announced.

In addition, there are reports that Prime Minister King is getting set to dissolve Parliament at its next meeting, scheduled for late October or early November.

General elections are constitutionally due by March next year, but there is renewed speculation in St Lucia that the poll could be set for the end of November or early in December.

Prime Minister Kings said the remaining rallies planned for the west coast town of Soufriere and the northern town of Gros Islet promise to be the biggest in St. Lucia’s history.
