Dr. Neil Gardner wins Courtney Walsh Award

Former track and field star Dr. Neil Gardner won the Courtney Walsh Award for Excellence last night at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
Gardner was a hurdler who represented Jamaica at the Olympics in 1996.
He was presented with a crystal trophy along with a cash award of $500,000.
Gardner won ahead of teenaged West Indies cricketer, Stafanie Taylor, veteran netballer, Nadine Bryan, and Nigel Davis, a Special Olympian.
Gardner, a chiropractor in Dallas, Texas, said he is honoured to receive the award.
Cricketers Jimmy Adams and Nehemiah Perry, netballer Elaine Davis, track and field athletes Deon Hemmings-McCatty, Brigitte Foster-Hylton and Aleen Bailey are previous winners.
