Jamaicans hunt medals

Four Jamaicans will aim to be among the medals this morning as the 2008 Olympics continue in Beijing, China.



Up first will be national champion Rosemarie Whyte and Shericka Williams who will line up in the women’s 400-metre final at 9.10 a.m.



The Jamaicans will face-off with the big favourite Sanya Richards of the USA and Christine Ohuruogu of Great Britain.



Then at 9.30 a.m., Delloreen Ennis London and Brigitte Foster Hylton will contest the women’s 100-metre hurdles final.



Ennis-London moved into the final following a second place finish in Semi-final One of the women’s 100-metre hurdles yesterday. She clocked 12.67 to finish behind American Lolo Jones who won in a personal-best 12.43.



Foster Hylton, 12.76, booked her place after finishing third in Semi-final Two won by American Damu Cherry in 12.62.



The semi-finals of the men’s 400 metres will also take the spotlight this morning, beginning at 8.45.



Ricardo Chambers will represent Jamaica. He will run in the second semi-final.
