West Indies leading India by 116 runs

West Indies, leading hosts India by 95 runs on first innings, were restricted to 21 for two at stumps on today’s second day of the first Test in Delhi.



It means the West Indies are leading by 116 runs with eight wickets in hand.



Kieran Powell was out in the second over without a run on the board, while teenager Kraigg Brathwaite went for two in the 13th over with the score on 17.



The batsmen at the crease are Kirk Edwards on 15 and night watchman Fidel Edwards on zero.



Earlier, India replying to West Indies’ first innings score of 304 were bowled out for 209 on a dramatic day in which 17 wickets fell.



Captain Darren Sammy ended as the most successful bowler for the West Indies with three for 35 off eight overs.



Leg spinner Davendra Bishoo and pacer Ravi Rampaul supported with two wickets each.



Opener Virender Sehwag top scored for India with 55, while Rahul Dravid scored 54 and Gautam Gambhir 41.



West Indies resuming on 256 for five this morning, lost their last five wickets for just 35 runs – four of them leg before decisions.



Veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul was dismissed for 118, having just added just seven runs to his overnight score.



Jamaican Carlton Baugh, the other overnight batsman, was trapped leg before wicket for 27, after a 69-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Chanderpaul.



Slow left arm bowler Pragyan Ojha was India’s most successful bowler with six for 72 off 34 point 9 overs.
