Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell was named Player-of-the-Series following the two-match four-day Test series between West Indies ‘A’ and Bangladesh ‘A’, which ended yesterday.

West Indies ‘A’ defeated Bangladesh ‘A’ by one wicket to win the second match at the Beausejour Cricket Club in St Lucia.

As a result of the victory, West Indies ‘A’ won the two-match series 1-0. The first match ended in a draw last week.

Russell snatched five for 36 in Bangladesh ‘A’ second innings on Monday to restrict the tourists to 187 all out.

The performance followed up on his four for 24 in the first innings when Bangladesh got 155 on the first day.

Russell ended the match with match figures of nine for 60.

Russell has emerged in recent months as a valuable resource for the senior West Indies, with his strong all-round ability.
