The European Union (EU) has provided the Grenadian government with US$1.7 million as the last tranche of its European Development Fund General Budget Support programme.

A statement from the government says this latest disbursement means that Grenada has received 98 per cent or a total of US$25.9 million of the funds available under the programme.

Head of the European Union in Barbados, Valeriano Diaz has called the programme a success and lauded the administration for some of the achievements.

Diaz says the programme has facilitated improvements in the business environment, as recognized in the Doing Business studies undertaken by the World Bank.
