Ten people have been hurt in an explosion that badly damaged a police bus in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The police say the blast happened near the offices of the ruling Justice and Development party.

Five of the wounded were police officers who were on duty at a nearby business association building.

Istanbul police chief Huseyin Capkin said the explosive was detonated by remote control.

Kurdish rebels have been blamed for the blast.
