Three people, including a member of the Guyana Defence Force have been freed of treason charges.
The trio - Major Bruce Munroe, his wife Carol and a former Reserve Officer, Leonard Wharton, had been accused of seeking to incite war in a bid to force then President Bharrat Jagdeo out of office.
The three were arrested on December 27.
However, the court has ruled that there is insufficient evidence to convict the three.
In upholding the no-case submission, The chief magistrate cited precedents in other countries to disagree with the prosecution's application for the particulars of the charge to be amended to include reference to an overt act.
