The Cuban authorities have rejected all offers of aid from the United States after the impoverished country was ravaged by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike within a two-week period.

The country has reportedly been receiving aid from several Latin American and European countries, including Brazil, Russia and Spain.

However, it said it wants no help from the US and is calling for that country to end its decades-old embargo against the island\'s communist government.

More than 90,000 houses were destroyed and billions of dollars in damage caused by the hurricanes.
