The Anguilla government has announced the partial lifting of a ban on the export of scrap metal effective June 1.
The ban was imposed in a bid to fight metal thieves.
Acting permanent secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Wycliffe Fahie, says scrap metal dealers will have to adhere to new conditions.
He says while a moratorium on the export of scrap copper will remain in effect, the export of scrap aluminium will continue until August 31, after which there will be review.
