The Jamaican forward Omar Cummings scored a fine goal and helped the Colorado Rapids beat Chicago Fire 2-0 in their US Major League Soccer match at the weekend.
Cummings and a Chicago own goal propelled the home side to a victory that sent them up to joint third with Chivas USA in the Western Conference standings on 30 points, behind leaders Houston Dynamo 39 and Real Salt Lake 31.
More than 14,000 fans were at Colorado’s Dick\'s Sporting Goods Park for the game and saw the Rapids go ahead in the 30th minute on a Jon Busch own goal.
Cummings, who had a brief stint for Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz on the international scene this year, made it 2-0 seven minutes later with his fifth goal of the season.
