A tropical disturbance lurking in the western Caribbean has claimed another life.

Authorities in the Dominican Republic say a 9-year-old boy died while trying to cross a swollen river.

According to the country\'s emergency operations office heavy rain yesterday damaged 775 homes and forced nearly 4,000 people into shelters.

The same slow-moving system has caused four deaths in Puerto Rico.

An investigation has been launched in St. Vincent and the Grenadines into the death of a woman after a wall collapsed in a landslide.
