Law enforcement agencies in Guyana have arrested two people in connection with a massive ammunition find at a house in Georgetown.

Four guns were also found.

Police spokesman Ivelaw Whittaker, said more than 700 rounds of ammunition, one shot-gun, two pistols including one with a silencer, and an AK-47 assault rifle were found.

It was not immediately clear whether the rifle was among several that were stolen several years ago from the headquarters of the Guyana Defence Force.
