Grenadians rush to register

CMC - Hundreds of Grenadians have reportedly rushed to voter registration offices following the Prime Minister’s announcement that Parliament will be dissolved to make way for a General Election.



On Wednesday night, Prime Minister Tillman Thomas said though parliament would be dissolved, he would wait before announcing an election date so that more Grenadians of voting age could register.



“Yes, we are getting reports that the sub offices are extremely business today,” said Supervisor of Elections Judy Benoit, as she confirmed that persons begun gathering at offices before the opening hours.



Prior to Wednesday’s announcement, Benoit had already decided to extend the opening hours of offices as a means of facilitate those who wished to register.
